Cape Town Meetings
The CAPT Network participated in meetings in conjunction with the AIDS Vaccine Conference in Cape Town. These meetings provided a chance for the network to prepare for the next round of the infrastructure’s funding.
- Pietermaritzburg Team Meeting (October 12, 2008) A special meeting of the CAPT Network’s Pietermaritzburg team was held to talk about planned research activities at the Pietermaritzburg Metropolitan Hospital Complex (PMHC) site.
- CAPT Network Planning Meeting (October 13, 2008 8:45-10:30 am) The CAPT Network hosted a special planning meeting to discuss upcoming funding opportunities through CHVI. The meeting was attended by: Blake Ball, Josephine Birungi, Bill Cameron, Guy De Bruyn, Mahomed Fazleh, Andrew Kiboneka, Joshua Kimani, David Moore, Bob O’Neill, Langa Ngubane, Walter Schlech and Doug Wilson.
- CHVI Partners Development Forum (October 13, 2008 11 am – 2pm) CHVI hosted a Partners Development Forum to talk about upcoming discovery and social research grant programs. The forum facilitated potential applicants in identifying and enhancing collaboration and linkages between Canadian and LMIC researchers in addition to providing information about the funding opportunities. The CAPT Network was invited to present a session at this consultation. David Moore of the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS presented on behalf of the CAPT Network.
